Wilt- “Your favorite band you’ve never heard of”

I had the pleasure of seeing and capturing Wilt in concert on September 16th at Jannus Live in St. Petersburg, Florida. Wilt is an Alt-Rock group from Los Angeles composed of lead singer Chelsea Rifkin; guitarists Aaron Liebman and Andrew Vance, and drummer Dan Bermudez. Having never seen them live before, I was excited to see them at a venue so near and dear to my heart. They were the 1st opening band on the Jutes tour and were trusted with hyping up the crowd, setting the tone for the night. As the bright Florida sun started to set, Wilt captured our attention, kicking their set off with "the rIff" (released 2023).

They played a handful of their most popular songs such as “Bite My Tongue,” “Dent,” “You’re the One to Blame,” and their first single they released in 2023, “Gwen”. One of my favorite moments of their set was when singer Chelsea Rifkin noticed a fan in the front row holding a sign stating “You’re the one to blame (for my wilt obsession)” and pointed her out during the song. The entire band was full of energy and didn’t let the Florida heat stop them. This date was their first Florida concert ever, and they most certainly brought their A-game onto the stage with them. By the end of their set, they had the entire crowd singing along.

With their new song “suffocate” coming out on September 23rd, I’m sure Wilt will continue to make magic and prove their claim of being “Your favorite band you’ve never heard of”.
